As a mark of respect following the death of Her Majesty the Queen the Up River Yacht Club Regatta is postponed this year.
Our sincere thanks for the preparation work that went into this event and the number of people, plus several local businesses, who had committed to this year’s Regatta, the first we hoped to hold since the Covid pandemic.
Our Exec Committee decided, by an overwhelming majority, that it would be inappropriate to hold a fun event at this time of national mourning.
I’m sure the vast majority of our members, and local people who were looking forward to this event, will understand and support the club regarding this postponement..
