In April things really get going. We have the Easter bank holiday to look forward to followed by the May Bank Holiday Monday which makes the last weekend in April a long one… hooorahhh!
Launching
Cruiser launching will be in full swing. Please refer to the notice board for dates. These are weather dependant and subject to experienced members being on hand to run them. If you have any questions then please contact Steve Harris or Gerry Ledger.
Burnham
This is followed by the shake down cruise to Burnham on Saturday 29 April, an over night stay followed on Sunday by a spot of cricket and tea on the “green” before a leisurely sail back on the Bank Holiday Monday. For those wishing to race, the Anchor Trophy is pencilled in for the outbound leg on the Saturday. Please contact Graham Lazell.
Racing
There are 4 dates of dinghy racing to look forward to in April including the racing over the Easter hols, Friday 14th and Saturday 15th. If you don’t fancy racing then why not crew in one of the safety boats. (Please do remember whether you are dinghy racer of a ‘fun sail’ dinghy sailor, when taking to the water when a safety boat is in action you are expected to take turn on safety boat duty. Social
Back on land, the bar is open every Friday night and Frank will be waiting to serve your favourite tipple.
Saturday 8 April is our “Fitting Out Supper” and a presentation to Alex as outgoing Commodore and also to Dennis as incoming Vice Commodore so come along and show your appreciation for everything they have done for the Club. Guests from our neighbouring clubs will be joining us to. We have a generous buffet and tickets are just £5 each (pay on the night).
Our House Committee plus some of our marvelous members are putting on a feast for your enjoyment. It’s 7:45pm for 8pm, smart casual. Please add your name to the sheet pinned to the notice board.
