Hoorah, the Family Fun weekend is almost here! Its this August Bank Holiday; Friday 30 August until 1 September inclusive.
This hugely popular event runs from Friday evening to Sunday and it’s a great hit with ALL members with or without a family in tow.
Why not rock-up with your caravan or pitch your tent in the lower field on the Friday afternoon/evening of the 30th. Alternatively, if you can only make the Saturday or the Sunday or just the BBQ on Saturday evening, then that’s absolutely fine.
High water favours sailing from about 12.00 midday until about 14.00. Guest RYA instructor, Greg Dawson will be joining us again on Saturday & Sunday. His easy going style continues to prove a hit with all ages. If you prefer doing your own thing on the water then that’s good too.
The afternoons are free to idle away with a glass of your favourite tipple.
For the younger members, for the young at heart, or those members who frankly should know better, there will likely be a selection of activities such as a treasure hunt off the slipway (at low tide – wellies preferable,) a tug-of-war competition, cricket or rounders (please bring sticks, “hitting stick” and a ball.)
The BBQ burgers & hot dogs are super cheap and will be served from about 7:30pm onwards. Bring your salad accompaniment that way it keeps the food arrangements simple.
